Today was an okay day, if you don't mind menopausal mothers every once in a while. But it's okay. She only yelled a couple of times today. I guess it was my fault for making her wait on me this morning. But really, you just don't wake a teenage girl up in the morning and say "I got the times wrong, your eye appointment is in an hour. We gotta go now." I'm like heck no. I'm taking a shower and brushing my teeth like the hygienic person I am so you can just deal with it. But the eye appointment itself was fine.
I really hate getting my eyes dilated. And that stupid puff of air. But it was amazing when the optometrist gave me a lens and said "This is what your prescription will be like." I've never seen anything so clearly before in my life. I've had glasses before, but LensCrafters always screwed up my prescriptions, so they didn't work. I didn't know people could see like that. I know it probably sounds really stupid, but it was really amazing to have new eyes for a few seconds. Everything looked even more beautiful that I originally thought the world looked. My glasses should be coming in the next couple of days, and I don't care if I look like a dork, at least I'll be able to see everyone else too.
So afterward we came home and I, being my amazingly nerdy self, sat down and made three oboe reeds, two of which are very much playable, and very pretty, if I do say so myself. Mrs. Warneck (the private teacher) approves of them too, so I'm satisfied.
Oh, I was thinking about my future today. I've decided:
I swear one day I'm gonna get a hamster and buy it a massive tricked out cage. I'm gonna carry it around in my shirt pocket and he'll be my little sidekick in life. He'll have on of those little hamster balls that go around everywhere and he'll be awesome. And I'm not gonna have a pool because then he might get out and accidentally drown himself like my last hamster did. Not my fault. My parents left the back door open and I was so sad. So yeah. No pools. And oh yeah. His name will be Zane. Okay. Cool.
